Our agility program is designed to assist you to reach your goals – whether that be to just have fun with your dog, perhaps to compete at the occasional local weekend trial or strive for provincial, national or international level competition. Our focus is to assist you and your dog to work together as a team. As well as technical handling skills and performance based mental management, our curriculum includes essential sport specific strength, conditioning and body awareness exercises for canine athletes to keep your dog in top form and to reduce the chance of injury. Our training philosophy is that of positive reinforcement.
This introductory agility program expands on your obedience skills and teaches you and your dog to work together as a team in preparation for competing in a variety of dog sports, including agility and flyball. Topics of training will include positive reward systems and markers; stays with duration, distance and distraction; targeting; directionals; handling system footwork; recalls and off leash control; start line set ups and teaching your dog to tug and retrieve. You will also learn sport specific strength, conditioning and body awareness exercises for canine athletes.
Upon completion of your foundation training, you are now ready to progress your skills into our Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Agility programs. We will continue to safely introduce all of the agility equipment and start to learn the various agility handling techniques. You and your dog will run sequences together as a team – leading up to full course work!
This challenging class is for dogs that are currently competing in agility at the Masters or Excellent level and beyond.
In order to secure your lesson time, payment is required in full at time of booking. We require 48 hrs notice for cancellation or rescheduling to avoid being billed for your missed lesson.
