Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an ancient Japanese spiritual healing art where healing energy is transmitted through the hands.

The word Reiki translates to “Universal Life” (Rei) and “Energy” (Ki). This life source energy surrounds us and flows through all living things. Reiki applies this energy through gentle touch for the purpose of natural healing and well-being.

Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone, including animals, have the ability to connect with their own inner healing energy. This healing energy is not guided by the practitioner, but instead the energy has it’s own innate wisdom to guide itself. The role of the Reiki Practitioner is to transmit or channel this healing life source energy through their hands.

Benefits of Reiki

Reiki can be a powerful tool for healing and growth and supports the whole being — physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. It is not masssage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.

Animals and Reiki

Because of it’s gentle and non-invasive nature, Reiki is ideal for use with animals. Animals seem to sense immediately that something special is being given to them and are drawn to the power and energy of Reiki. They often become very calm and relaxed, sometimes falling into a deep and peaceful sleep during treatments. Animals will often push into the Reiki practitioner’s hands, clearly indicating the area they would like attention to. The Reiki practitioner respects each animals needs and responds intuitively. Reiki will not cause stress, discomfort, or pain, and yet yields powerful results with it’s ability to support the healing of emotional, behavioral, and physical illnesses and injuries.

Both healthy and ill animals can benefit from regular Reiki treatments. For healthy animals, Reiki helps to aid in relaxation, promoting emotional security and a sense of peace and contentment. When animals are ill or recovering from surgery, Reiki is a wonderful healing tool. It will never do any harm and will work safely as a complement to conventional medicine, Chinese Medicine, homeopathy, flower essences and any other form of healing.

For animals who are dying, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle way to provide comfort, relief from pain, fear and anxiety, and to ease the transition in their passing.

Where are Treatments Available?

One of the benefits of Reiki is that it can be administered very simply in all kinds of settings: homes, clinics, hospitals, veterinary offices, stables, animal shelters… or any place where people or animals experience stressed muscles, accidents, exhaustion, or trauma. Treatments are available at our wellness clinic, in your own home or at competition venues where we are in attendance. Outreach visits may incur a travel fee which will be discussed at time of booking.
